Sacred Heart Governing Body Pen Portraits
Mr Chris Degenhart Chair of Governors
Hi I’m Chris Degenhart and I am Foundation Governor and the English subject governor. I started as a Parent Governor having had 3 children go through the school in recent years and was keen to continue to support the school when Rachel (currently year 6) has left. Having seen Sacred Heart go from strength to strength over the years I believe we have a very special school that is a great place for children both to learn but also be supported and given the confidence and skills to be successful in the future.

I work as a senior executive for a technology firm and elected Cllr at Warrington Borough Council. I have lived in Warrington for 23 years and have a daughter at university. I originally trained in engineering and have a passion for community and charity work having set up and run Good Neighbours WA5 to relieve food poverty and loneliness for the elderly in the WA5 postcode area.
Sacred Heart School, for many years now has been consistent in their high standard of education along with a kind ethos towards its community and the wellbeing of all the Children. This is of great value and I would like to bring my experience, to the oversight and governance, thus helping be part of the continuing work and progress. I have known the school and many teachers for over 20 years. Being part of the community and giving back is important and hopefully I can add some value to many of the foundational subjects and various projects.

Sophie Harding
I am delighted to be joining the Governing board as a parent Governor. I have two children at Sacred Heart and can honestly say that I could not have picked a better school. I am currently a Student Midwife on course to complete my qualification in September 2024. I gain great satisfaction from providing a calm and nurturing atmosphere for the birth of a baby, establishing valuable relationships with women and families, and earning their trust. Advocating for women during the most crucial period of their lives is an immense privilege. I look forward to applying these abilities in my new role as a parent governor. In addition to my passion for women and maternity services, I am also passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN). I strongly believe that all children, including those with additional needs, should have the opportunity to attend a school where they can flourish, develop their potential, and feel secure. I believe that Sacred Heart School provides such an environment for all children. I am eager to expand my knowledge and understanding of SEN children and the behind-the-scenes efforts to support these remarkable children. I look forward to contributing to the existing Governing body and the school in whatever capacity possible.
Danielle Walker
I am Danielle Walker and I am the assistant head and SENDCO at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. I have joined the governing body as our staff representative, which is an absolute privilege. I have worked at Sacred Heart since qualifying as a teacher 12 years ago and I am passionate about supporting our school to be the best it can be for the children and families that come here. It is really important to me that all children receive a creative, engaging curriculum which allows them to progress and achieve the best they can. Alongside this, it is important to me that we support all children to develop as well rounded children, with great values, who are ready for the next stage of their life as they leave us in Year 6.
I spend my free time making memories with my family, running around being mummy to my two little girls Sienna and Emelia as well as cinema trips and girls night with my lovely group of friends.
