Faith in Action
CYMFed National Catholic Award
The Faith in Action Award encourages young people through recognising, rewarding and celebrating their active faith lived out through service and reflection. Many young people are doing so much to follow Jesus' example in serving others in their schools and parishes. The Faith in Action Award encourages young people to take that service into their wider community and accept greater responsibility for their faith in action.
The programme facilitates an exploration of scripture and Church teaching, with an emphasis on translating this into action. It encourages young people to shine the light of faith upon their experience of service through guided and personal reflection.
PIN Level Award - Discovery
This is for our Year 6 pupils allowing them to discover how faith shapes lives, thus acting as a stepping stone to the higher level awards. We undertake the PIN Level Award as a whole class group. Having taken early steps in establishing a personal relationship with God, participants begin to see that this relationship has an outward and visible effect upon them and those around them. As they seek to know God better, they become aware of others, of all ages, are trying to do the same. This draws us together in community. Seeking to serve the community helps us to discover even more about ourselves, each other and God.
We were delighted that our ALL our Year 6 pupils achieved their PIN Level Faith in Action Award in 2022 and 2023! Our current Year 6 are also going to be working towards achieving it this year.
