From the community on our doorstep to the nations and cultures of all seven continents, each child will become an adventurer in their own right with a growing thirst to discover more.

Curriculum Skills  overview

Geography Policy

Below is our Sacred Heart geography policy.

Curriculum Overview

Below is our curriculum overview which, term by term, shows how each class in the school are exploring our exciting geography curriculum.

Knowledge Organisers

For every unit of geography we teach at Sacred Heart, a knowledge organiser is created for the students to ensure they have the relevant vocabulary, knowledge and skills required to access learning. These organisers are attached below for you to explore.

Year 2 Map work skills

As a part of our Victorian's history unit we have been exploring the role of 'The British Empire'. We decided to use geographical map work skills to locate and name the countries that formed the British empire. Lots of wonderful independant use of maps and atlases - well done year 2!

Year 1 Geographical viewpoints

Year 1 had a wonderful lesson exploring viewpoints. Using their friend 'little spider' they considered what view he might have from different angles. The children then created scenes and took photos from different angles to explore viewpoints and positioning - well done year 1!
