What is the Children's University?
Our school is proud to be part of Warrington Children’s University, a national scheme that encourages voluntary learning beyond the school day. Warrington Children’s University runs alongside The Warrington Wolves Foundation.
Students are rewarded for their participation in voluntary learning by receiving points for every hour they attend. If they receive enough points they are invited to the annual Graduation Ceremony to get their certificate.
Sacred Heart provides a wide variety of after-school clubs that students can attend as part of Children’s University.
Children can also gain points towards their Children’s University by having a Passport to Learning and visiting Public Learning Destinations away from school. Passports are available from school.
Children visiting with a Passport to Learning will ask a member of staff to record their visit in their Passport. Children should interact with the activity before their Passport to Learning can be stamped and the number of hours recorded.
Children can only get passport stamps from Learning Destinations validated by Children’s University.
It is important that a Passport to Learning is completed by a member of staff (not a parent) and stamped using the agreed stamp logo. Passports that have been signed or initialled will unfortunately not be accepted.
If you would like to suggest an activity to be a Learning Destination, please contact the Children’s University team –
