Dear Parents/Carers

I would first of all like to thank you for choosing Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School for your child. We are so excited to meet him/her and have lots of plans for when he/she joins us in September. If you were able to come and visit our school then I hope that you recognised what a special place Sacred Heart is. I am delighted to welcome your whole family in to our Sacred Heart family!

I am extremely proud to have been Head teacher of Sacred Heart for the past 14 years and to lead a team of people who are as passionate as I am to ensure that our children (not just your children anymore ) receive the love, care and guidance they deserve, in school, as well as at home.

Sacred Heart is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities. The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.

Our school has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with parents, the local community and other schools in the area. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child's education. We look forward to working with you all in the very near future.  Mrs Harding

Hello and a big welcome to our Sacred Heart Family!

We’re so pleased that you’ll be joining our Reception class in September. Starting school is such an exciting time, and we’re already looking forward to meeting you and your family and beginning this new adventure together.

My name is Mrs Taylor, your new Reception teacher. I’m a smiley, caring and kind person, and I’ll always be there to help you feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Working alongside me in our classroom is Mrs Lee, our wonderful teaching assistant. Mrs Lee is gentle, nurturing and always ready with a helping hand or a kind word. She makes sure everyone feels looked after and supported.

In our classroom, you will have lots of time to explore, play and learn. Whether that’s building, painting, listening to stories, making friends or discovering something new, every day is a chance to grow in confidence, ask questions and try lots of new things.

We can’t wait to get to know you. Your favourite things, what makes you smile and all the little things that make you you. We’re really looking forward to starting this journey together, and we’ll be there to help and cheer you on every step of the way.

We’ll see you very soon.

Mrs Taylor and Mrs Lee

New Parent Meeting

At this meeting you will meet your child’s Reception teachers and other key school staff. There will be other agencies at the meeting, such as the school cook, Canon Christopher Cunningham and representatives from the Local Authority and Wasps (breakfast and afterschool childcare provider). You will also receive an information pack about school life that will be useful in preparation for school.

This meeting will take place in school on Monday 9th June from 4-5pm. It is really important that you attend this meeting. If you wish to bring your child/ren with you, our school staff are available to look after your child during this meeting in a different classroom.

Stay and Play Visits

We would also like to invite your child for a stay and play session so that they can meet us in Reception and explore some areas within their new classroom. These will take place on the 24th and 25th June from 1:30-3pm, where the children will stay for an hour and a half session, a group at a time.
